Special Events Case Study: Convention Coaching

Problem:
A trade printer frequently perceived as “The envelope people,” wanted prospects and customers to know about other items in their product line. Furthermore, they wanted to accomplish their goals with a modest marketing budget.
Solution:
Since Shipman Printing was exhibiting at InformServices for the first time in a decade, and the convention was coming to Philadelphia, we freshened up the graphics of their table-top booth panels (rather than buying or renting a larger display). We developed and implemented an affordable, creative, fun booth theme, “Niagara Falls Grandeur Meets Historic Philadelphia.” We coached them in the entire process, kept track of expenditures and assisted at their booth.
Knowing the importance of pre-show marketing in attracting booth traffic, we scheduled trade magazine advertisements and product press releases months before the convention, and we published a special edition of their newsletter. In addition, we kept the client visible after the show with product flyers, quarterly newsletters and press coverage.

 
 
Result:
Client increased awareness of their company, promoted their entire product line, gained dozens of new customers (still active) and kept expenditures low.
