Community InvolvementDiane McNitt, St. Philomena publicist, designed this banner (below) to commemorate her son's school's closing after 104 years. Along with her husband, Joe Foley, they organized the students and marched in Lansdowne's annual 4th of July parade to thank the community for its support of Catholic education. The group won second place in the marchers' category. Diane McNitt, colon cancer survivor, wanted to use her marketing skills to help other cancer patients so each March (Colon Cancer Awareness month) she writes a Letter to the Editor for the local papers to increase awareness of colon cancer in those under 50.
